A four-year trial of 1,200 volunteers showed that the new tobacco was less harmful and could reduce lung disease

Products such as HTP (heating without burning products) and e-cigarettes have become effective alternatives to traditional cigarettes under the global trend of smoking cessation and harm reduction. A recent study published by the Kazakh Academy of Preventive Medicine confirmed that HTP is less harmful to humans and significantly reduces lung damage compared to cigarettes. At the same time, ABF, an internationally renowned bioanalysis research laboratory, also concluded through experimental comparison: compared with cigarettes, the use of e-cigarettes, HTP, nicotine gum and other products have a lower cancer rate.

Recently, The Kazakh Academy of Preventive Medicine published an article in the Global Journal of Respiratory Care "Respiratory Function, Physical Capacity, and Metabolic Syndrome Components in Combustible Cigarettes and Heated Tobacco Products Users: "A Four-Year Follow-Up Cohort Study," the paper analyzes the long-term effects of switching to HTP among smokers compared to continuous cigarette use.

The researchers followed 1,200 participants aged 40 to 59 (400 HTP users and 800 cigarette users) for up to four years to compare measures of lung function after bronchiectasis, the 6-minute walking distance test, and metabolic syndrome components. The results showed that HTP use did not significantly decrease lung function over time compared with cigarette users, and improvements in CAT score, waist circumference and systolic blood pressure were significantly better.

The study found that HTP is a less harmful nicotine replacement than cigarettes, shows good improvement in outcomes such as lung function, and is significantly effective in improving lung health in people who use cigarettes for a long time or have difficulty quitting.

Another paper published in ACS Omega "Assessment of the Exposure to Aromatic Amines in Users of Various Tobacco/Nicotine Products ", published by ABF(Analytisch-Biologisches Forschungslabor GmbH), an internationally renowned laboratory for biological analysis.

According to the paper, a 74-hour closed clinical study tested the urine of users of combustible cigarettes (CCs), e-cigarettes (EC), heated non-burning products (HTP), oral tobacco (OT) and nicotine replacement therapy products (NRT). The samples were exposed to four aromatic amines (o-toluidine (O-Tol), 2-amino-naphthalene (2-AN), 4-amino-biphenyl (4-ABP), and 3-amino-biphenyl (3-ABP), all of which are carcinogens. The results showed that the sample of smokers showed the highest levels of response to all four aromatic amines measured, whereas the urine levels of e-cigarette, HTP, NRT and OT users were similar to those of never-smokers without significant changes.

Therefore, the trial also proves that nicotine replacement products such as e-cigarettes and HTPS are safer ways to quit smoking, with lower risks than cigarettes.
